Pupils must be punctual for class on every working day. Late comers should not enter the class without the signature of the Principal / Person Authorized. No pupil may absent himself / herself without obtaining prior leave. Absence will be indicated in the Attendance Register in the following ways:

• If the pupil has submitted the leave letter — 'L'
• If the pupil has submitted the sick leave letter — 'S'
• If no leave letter at all — 'A'

No absentee should enter the class without the signature of the Vice-Principal / Authorized Signatory.

A student absenting from school for 5 days in succession without prior permission will be marked as "LEFT". He / She will not be readmitted as a matter of policy. If he / she desires to be readmitted, penalty fee will be collected as re-Admission Fee.

A week's notice in writing is required for the removal of a pupil. The father of the pupil concerned should make the requisition. If the father is no more, the mother's signature is necessary.

The Transfer Certificate (T.C.) or any other certificate or testimonial will be issued on leaving.

Pupils will be detained if they take leave during the exam without a valid reason. A student who misses an exam due to sickness or unavoidable circumstances should submit a written leave application form along with the medical certificate, if needed, to the Principal's office immediately.

Re-examination will be conducted for eligible students to whom the leave has been approved. The marks obtained in Weekly Test, Pre-term Test, Quarterly, Half Yearly and Annual Exam will be considered for promotion.

Progress Reports showing the performance of the pupils and their results will be given to the parents after the Term Examinations on the Open Day. Parents or guardians are requested to examine the Progress Report carefully and see that their sons / daughters make a special effort to study those subjects in which they are weak.

Grading System

Scholastic Areas are graded on a 9-point scale. The grading system evaluates students across Formative Assessment (FA) and Summative Assessment (SA) components as outlined in the Term Examinations section.

1. Every pupil must have a copy of the school hand-book during school hours, failing which he/she may not be admitted to class. The Hand Book should be kept neat, tidy, and up to date as it is the identity book of the pupil as well as an important record. It is personal and open to inspection only by teachers, parents and guardians.
2. Chewing of Bubble Gums, Cool Lip, Tobacco, Pan, Betel nut, Hot Drinks, any other substance banned by the Government, etc. is banned in the School Premises.
3. People who are caught copying during any test or examination may be detained or asked to leave the school, irrespective of their academic performance.

1. Regular attendance is a key requisite for a good student and the school attaches much importance to it. A special certificate is awarded to students with hundred percent attendance.
2. Pupils must be punctual for class. Late comers should enter the class only with due permission, having entered the reason in the handbook.
3. For absence of more than 3 days on medical grounds, the student should produce a Medical Certificate.
4. A student who is absent for five or more days without prior leave will have his/her name struck off the rolls. He/She will not be re-admitted as a matter of course. If he/she has to be readmitted, a readmission fee of Rs. 100 has to be paid.
5. All applications for leave should be made in writing with the signature of the parent or legal guardian and should reach the Principal before commencement of class. Oral or phone messages will not be accepted.
6. Pupils must return to school on the REOPENING DAY after every long holiday. Absence on the first day of the term or after holidays such as Christmas, Pongal, Deepavali, Ramzan, Quarterly, School Annual Day, School Sports Day and the like will be punishable with a fine of Rs. 100/- in addition to Rs. 50/- per day of absence. In case of sickness, a medical certificate must be produced on return. Absenting oneself for the sake of studying for examination is not permitted.

1. At the first bell, all must move towards their respective place in order and in silence. Each session begins and ends with a common prayer for the whole school.
2. In the classroom, place is allotted to each pupil by the class teacher and no one may change it without permission. Likewise, no one may move from place to place or go out of the classroom without proper permission.
3. When teachers or persons to whom respect is due enter or leave the class, pupils are required to stand up spontaneously and greet them respectfully.
4. Silence is very conducive to quiet reflection and study, both for oneself and others.
5. Talking loudly, clapping of hands, or any sort of disturbance to other classes is never permitted. For choral recitation, singing, or anything liable to cause disturbance, pupils will be taken outdoors.
6. In the absence of the teacher, the class leader immediately takes charge and reports to the Principal with the help of the assistant leader. Pupils are expected to study their lessons in strict silence and seriousness.
7. No one may take up any collection or impose a fine without the authorization of the Principal. No presentation of gifts by pupils or parents to teachers may be done without the explicit permission of the Principal.
8. Pupils are responsible for the safe custody of their books and belongings. It is not advisable for them to bring more money or any other valuable articles to school.
9. Copying and other malpractices are strictly prohibited. If anyone is caught copying, he/she will be removed from the school.

1. Monitors must be exemplary in conduct and industrious in their studies.
2. They must be able to command the respect of the class.
3. They must assist the teacher in the class — maintaining discipline, collecting or distributing books, attending to the cleanliness and neatness of the classroom, bringing charts, maps, etc.
4. They must rub out the writing on the Blackboard immediately after each period.
5. Every day the monitor, especially in higher classes, will write on the blackboard the date and the number of pupils present out of the total number in the class.
6. The monitor must be responsible for all happenings in the class during the absence of the teacher.
7. The monitor must realise that to be a monitor is a special privilege and honour. To betray the trust and confidence reposed in them is to commit a shameful act.
8. Class monitors are expected to attend meetings where methods and means to improve discipline will be discussed.
9. It is incumbent on all Monitors to report to the Vice Principal or class teacher any breach of discipline noticed even during recess.
10. In the event of a teacher being absent, they must inform the Vice Principal within the first five minutes of commencement of the period.
11. In the absence of the class monitor, the assistant monitor shall function in the same capacity.
